Two Big SAT & ACT Reading Mistakes

The Reading sections of the SAT and ACT tend to give students the most trouble for a host of reasons. Part of this difficulty, however, is self-inflicted: students generally make two HUGE mistakes on the Reading test, often without realizing it.

  1. Not crossing out wrong answers
  2. Not checking all four choices.

I’ll explain what I mean by these mistakes and how to correct them in this video:

Note: In the video I write “all five choices” and display Old SAT problems to illustrate the strategies. New SAT and ACT Reading questions have four choices, and the strategies described work just as well on these tests.
